Manufactured at EMD Controls and Fabrication for a client in the industrial weighing industry, the pillow block bearing described here is designed as a basic hinge to allow a scale platform to be raised for cleaning and maintenance. Constructed entirely from self-lubricating UMHW, it features dimensions of 4.35″ in length by 1.25″ in width by 1″ in height. In addition routing the bearing hole for the shaft, the customer specifications called for milling of a hole and a slot for the mounting bolts.
Manufacturing of this component utilized our precision CNC router for the bearing hole and our CNC milling machine to create the mounting hole and slot.
Numerous quality checkpoints throughout the production cycle confirmed we met the customer’s stringent requirements for dimensional accuracy to 0.005″. The client was satisfied with every aspect of our work and continues to partner with us on challenging projects.
