Specializing in contract manufacturing, EMD Controls & Fabrication offers the ability to produce precision machined parts assemblies using advanced CNC technology to meet exacting customer specifications.
The spring assembly shown is designed for use in the industrial weighing industry. Featuring dimensions of 9.35″ in length and 0.85″ in width, we produced these aluminum and stainless steel parts using our 4 axis CNC lathe. The lathe offers live tooling which provided the profiling, off-center drilling and thread milling of the various parts. All tolerances were held to within +/- 0.001″.
Manufacturing of this component required anodizing of the aluminum body and black oxide coating of the steel spring. Final assembly was then done consisting of the body, pin, spring and threaded stainless steel fastener at the top. The anodizing and black oxide coating were done using EMD’s network of subcontractors, while all of the assembly operations were performed in-house.
We manufactured these spring assemblies in quantities of 1000 to 2000, with lead times of 4 weeks. For more information on this project, or the processes used to fabricate it, please Contact Us.
