This project highlights EMD Controls & Fabrication’s ability to produce larger metal fabrications. The hoppers shown are designed for dispensing of soda ash in a municipal water treatment system. Constructed entirely of 12 gauge 304 stainless steel, the customer supplied drawings specified a hopper and stand with a 20 cubic foot capacity and an overall size of 4′ long x 4′ wide by 6′ tall.
All of the components that make up this assembly were first laser cut on our CNC fiber laser cutting machine. The parts were then finished to deburr and round the edges and then holes were drilled to allow for assembly of the stand. Our 7 axis press brake was utilized to bend the hopper supports and legs for the stand while our handheld laser welder was used to pre-clean and weld the hopper. All assembly of the final product was done in-house.
We manufactured this hopper in quantities of 100 to 250, with lead times of 3-1/2 weeks. For more information on this project, or the processes used to fabricate it, please Contact Us.
