This project highlights EMD Controls & Fabrication’s ability to contract manufacture precision laser cut components. The part shown was designed for mounting a power supply in a NEMA 4X electronic control enclosure in the weighing industry. Composed entirely of 16 gauge 304 stainless steel, the customer supplied drawings specified an overall size of 7.125″ x 7.125″ along with a requirement for brackets and holes for mounting plus slots for ventilation.
Manufacturing of this component utilized our precision CNC fiber laser cutting machine to cut the flat stainless steel plate to size. The plate was then finished to deburr and round the edges while the mounting holes were tapped with 5-40 and 6-32 threads. Our 7 axis press brake was then used to bend the part into its final shape. At EMD we pride ourselves in ability to laser cut and produce this part to a tolerance of only two thousandths of an inch.
We manufactured this bracket in quantities of 25 to 250, with lead times of 1-1/2 weeks. For more information on this project, or the processes used to fabricate it, please Contact Us.
