Manufactured at EMD Controls & Fabrication for a client in the volumetric feeder industry, the drive shaft assembly shown was designed to connect a feeder motor and a quick disconnect auger for dry powder feeding applications.
Constructed from either 304 or 316 stainless steel, it featured a separate shaft for the motor drive and a mating collar for the auger bayonet. Dimensions were 4.56″ long by 1″ in diameter for the shaft and 2″ long by 1.25″ in diameter for the collar.
All processing took place in-house using our state-of-the-art, 4 axis CNC lathe, which allowed us to leverage rapid removal rates for higher throughput.
Numerous quality checkpoints throughout the production cycle confirmed we met the customer’s specifications for dimensional accuracy. The client was satisfied with every aspect of our work and continues to partner with us on challenging projects.
We manufactured these assemblies in quantities of 100 to 300, with lead times of 3 weeks. For more information on this project, or the processes used to fabricate it, please Contact Us.
